A Gronewold Wedding

We were so happy to celebrate the marriage of our friends Peter and Melody Gronewold last Saturday July 25th. Steven had the honor of being the Best Man. Sydney and Calvin were asked to be the Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. We had a great time. Everything was gorgeous and all the little glichs, that every wedding has, worked themselves out (some with the help of a shout pen). The kids even stood up front by the wedding party during the whole ceremony! I was SHOCKED!!! I was strategically positioned at the front row with candy in hand in case of emergency.
Peter and Melody:
Thank you for making us a part of your very special day. God has given you the gift of each other. It is evident that you are humbled and thankful. Our prayer for your new family is that you will grow strong in Christ to lead the future generations in humble service to our King. We love you and CONGRATULATIONS!

I think this is our only photo all together. I need to get better about these things.

Thanks to Angela for taking the great photos. Again I need to get better about this. I didn't pull my camera out once. I knew I could count on you Ang!

A visit to the dentist

The last two visits to the dentist have been fun. I know that sounds impossible but it is true. No, I don't have the most obedient children in the world. It might just have something to do with the fact that my kids get to have their teeth cleaned by my sister. And all the office ladies gush all over them and give them way too many toys and toothbrushes! Not a bad situation to be in. I am very thankful that dentist visits have been easy thus far. Just when I thought I had it made in this area, it gets even better! Jaclynn was begging to have her teeth cleaned last time we were there! No kidding, on the verge of throwing a fit if she didn't get to lay in the chair. Sarah (my sister) cleaned, rinsed, and suctioned my little baby's sixteen teeth. It was hilarious, all of us couldn't stop laughing. Jaclynn seemed a bit offended as she did not understand what all the fuss was about. She seemed to be thinking that it is perfectly normal for a 17 month old to be laying in a dentist chair cooperating perfectly! I have to remember this experience and how not normal it is and be thankful that I get this one. So many other people have what seems to me like an easy time handling nap/bedtime, or discipline issues or what ever else. Others difficulties in life and their triumphs are always going to be different.
When difficulties arise I need to remember the provisions God has lovingly pored out and the paths He has made easy.
Isaiah 40:29-31 Says:
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and weary, and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait in the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not be faint.

And
Isaiah 40:11
He will tend His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arms; He will carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

I Heart Faces

Fun little photography website I had to check out. And now I am entered in their contest. It is a beach theme, obviously. Hey Tricia I bet you have some super cool shots that are sure to be contenders from your visits here last summer!
